Bleach Trays

Before beginning any of the whitening treatments, it is very important that we examine your teeth, and make sure that your teeth and gums are healthy. Tooth whitening can be a simple treatment on its own, or can be part of a more complex cosmetic restoration plan.

If you decide on take-home bleaching trays we would book you an appointment to have impressions of your teeth taken. Over the next few days we would produce the whitening trays using the moulds of your teeth. They end up looking like very thin, clear, mouth guards.

We use the Opalescence bleach for the take-home trays. In each pack, there are eight syringes, a tray case, and a cosmetic bag. Please choose from the selection of flavours and bleach percentages below.

Active ingredient: 10% Carbamide Peroxide

Indications: For patients with existing sensitivity, can be worn day or night

Recommended use time: 8-10 hours a day(overnight)

Opalescence PF 15%, 20%
Active ingredient: 15%, 20% Carbamide Peroxide
Contains: Potassium Nitrate and Fluoride
Indications: For faster bleaching: can be worn night and day
Flavours: Mint, Melon and Regular
15% Recommended use time: 4-6 hours a day
20% recommended use time: 2-4 hours a day

Opalescence PF 35%
Active ingredient: 35% Carbamide Peroxide
Contains: Potassium Nitrate and Fluoride
Indications: For shorter wear time and touch ups
Flavours: Mint, Melon and Regular
Recommended use time: 30 minutes a day

Opalescence Pre-loaded Bleach Trays

We have another option available called "Treswhite Supreme" for those who do not wish to have re-usable trays constructed. This is especially good for those who dislike having impressions taken. It is a pre-loaded, sold over the counter, bleach option.

A soft tray is pre-loaded with a firm bleach gel. These are sold in packs of 10 disposable trays. This is positioned on your teeth, and the tray is then peeled away to leave the bleach adhered to the tooth surface. This can then be peeled/wiped off after the allocated bleach time.
