Veneers

Porcelain veneers ( laminates) are thin, custom made porcelain “shells” permanently bonded to the front of your teeth. Veneers can close gaps, and improve the colour, and or shape of your teeth.

A small amount of enamel is removed from the front of the tooth, your dental surgeon will then take an impression of the prepared tooth. The impression will be sent to a porcelain laboratory where your veneer will be custom made for you.

A temporary veneer will be put over the prepared tooth.

Before fitting, your dentist will show you the veneer before they permanently place it on your tooth. You will both check the colour and shape and they will check the fit. If all is well your Veneer will be bonded onto your tooth.

If your tooth is heavily filled, root filled, or weakened in any way a porcelain crown may be a more suitable option for you.
