WINZ / Community Card Holders

Application for WINZ assistance

If you are on a benefit, pension or student allowance you may be entitled to financial assistance from Winz for URGENT dental treatment. You will need to contact your case manager or Winz office to see if you may be eligible for emergency dental assistance. If eligible you may call us and arrange an appointment for an estimate of costs for your emergency dental work.
The cost of this visit is the usual examination fee. It can be put on the estimate of costs for Winz, but if they decline you may be asked to pay for this appointment yourself.

You will then take this form to Winz for approval. If approved they will give you a purchase authority, which you return to us. We can then carry out your treatment.

There is a current limit of $300 non recoverable, but you can sometimes apply for more on a loan system. They also have the ability to help with funding for dentures.

If the emergency funding runs out and you require further dental work and you have community services card, we can refer you to the Palmerston North Hospital Dental Unit.

Community Card Holders

At the present time we do not have funding to offer subsidized dental treatment to card holders. We can however offer you a Winz estimate, as above, if you are on a benefit, or we can refer you to the PN Hospital dental unit. For a referral you need to have either been one of our patients or will need a dental examination prior to referral.The cost of this visit will be the usual examination fee.
